SPEEDY SEEDS: Starting My Texas Heirloom Garden

My first shipment of heirloom vegetable seeds—the beginning of my seed-saving and homesteading journey.

Every garden begins with a handful of seeds and a little excitement. Looking back, this was the day my heirloom gardening journey truly began. I had spent weeks researching seed varieties, learning about seed saving, and waiting for my greenhouse to arrive. When the package finally showed up, I couldn't wait to get started.

Got my heirloom seeds today! Now all I need to do is wait for the greenhouse to arrive - any day now! The seller packaged the seeds very well with nice planting instructions. He also included the bonus lettuce, and bonus Black Krim tomato seeds.

My green thumb (probably more yellow) is aching to plant!

Looking back, I had no idea this little package of seeds would eventually lead me into heirloom gardening, seed saving, greenhouse growing, food preservation, and eventually preparedness. Sometimes the smallest packages grow into the biggest adventures.
