AUSTIN FAMILY MUSIC FESTIVAL

If you're looking for family-friendly events in Central Texas, the Austin Family Music Festival was always one of the highlights of the fall season. Hosted at Pioneer Farms in Austin, the event combined live music, children's activities, historical demonstrations, educational exhibits, and plenty of opportunities to explore one of our favorite living history museums. We spent the day enjoying the entertainment, visiting exhibits, and taking lots of photos to remember a wonderful family outing.

We spent today at the music festival, hosted by Pioneer Farms. We got to meet a lot of the PBS crew yesterday while they were setting things up. Really nice people!

Several bands today - Kelly Willis, Bruce Robison, The Biscuit Brothers, PBS Kids host, Mr. Steve, Super Pal Universe -- you name it. Today was a popular event! Expecting between 5000 to 10,000 people.

Why We Enjoyed the Festival

One of the things that made this event so memorable was the variety of activities. Between the live performances, children's entertainment, historic demonstrations, and opportunities to explore Pioneer Farms, there was something for every age.

Because we volunteered at Pioneer Farms for many years, events like this always felt a little extra special. It was fun seeing families discover history through music, games, and hands-on activities in such a beautiful setting.

If you ever have the opportunity to attend a similar family festival, it's well worth spending the day outdoors making memories together.

Hard to believe, one week ago TODAY, Josh and Caitlin were getting married on this exact site!

Tomorrow, we're headed for the Texas State Parks & Wildlife EXPO - We try to go to this annual event every year. TILL THEN!
